Inside An Enterprise Agency

Community-driven economic development
Enterprise agencies give communities more control over their own economic development, offering them direct input into decision-making, establishing goals and allocating resources. They are responsible for leading the development of strategic plans and, with their government partners, in monitoring and evaluating outcomes.

Community input
The Enterprise Agency is controlled by a member Board of Directors, representative of the diverse business community of each region. They are accountable to the community and to the government partners who provide funding and services to the agency. They are responsible for leading the design and implementation of an economic development "roadmap" for the community. An Advisory Forum of stakeholders from all parts of the community provide input and feedback to the Board of Directors.

First step for business information, programs and services
Your local Enterprise Agency is focused on helping small- and medium-sized businesses succeed, whether it's starting a new business, ensuring the right people and skills are available or breaking into new export markets. For help with developing new ideas about your business or about your community, call your Enterprise Agency first.
